The morning I almost didn't start
There's a morning before every long run where your body tells you to stay in bed. Day 47 in Croatia was that moment. The rain hadn't stopped in three days. My left Achilles was talking to me. Jax was curled in a ball under the van.

Retired entrepreneur turned endurance athlete and writer. I've run across the United States, Europe, Brazil, and Spain. In 2018, a stray dog in the mountains of Brazil named Lucky chose to follow me and changed the trajectory of my life. I wrote a book about it. My wife Monica and I co-founded Friends of Lucky Caminho, a nonprofit supporting stray dogs along Brazil's Caminho da Fé trail.
